part two. i spent part of my summer in france last year, and while we were there we celebrated my friend serinas birthday. in true french style we were running late for the surprise party we were throwing at a restaurant, and so we started blowing up the balloons on the walk over. made for some nice pictures. the above right image is from vic.

im trying to build up my collection, but im impossibly picky with jewelery, especially rings; i want every piece i buy to be unique while keeping with my taste. so far digging through my moms jewelery box has proven most effective

i was editing my posts and couldnt believe ive done 200 already. vero posted this picture on my wall one day and i think its unbelievable, so im using it to celebrate.

another one

im going to show some restraint and not create another blog for another visual obsession: balloons. rather, i will create a balloon series on la flaneuse, and this is part 1. adding balloons to a scene creates a delicious, light feature. the concise shape, strong colours, and artificial nature of balloons make them something that is completely unnecessary and seemingly useless in the adult realm. the frivolousness reminds me of the simple pleasures of childhood that should never be discredited in adult life, and the contrast of the two is spectacular.

another sequined blazer sighting, brought to my attention by veronica. the dvf blazer is seen at left in the spring 08 show, and on whitney port at right. this picture does not do justice to whits fabulousness, but i guarantee shes working it better than the model.

i was browsing this post on tatwamasi, and was compelled to post my 3. mk won for me, i love lacroix so much. the layered grey, smokey eyes, and messy hair works perfectly. ashleys dress from the row was striking as well. cleaner, and very much her aesthetic. my third pick might seem kind of random. i love the contrast of textures in kates marchesa gown, but most importantly, i love how she is wearing it. loose hair, natural makeup, no accesories, and an aura of effortlessness.

attitude is everything; if more gala guests were more attentive to their taste, rather than running to statement pieces, they might seem more attractive to me. most guests looked nice, but made me yawn.

how great is this post from whowhatweardaily.com? theyve pulled out the glory that was 90s fashion a la beverly hills, which ive been very nostalgic for in the last year or so, and theyve used current fashions to create the looks. whats not to like? body-con dresses, big blazers, lace, motorcycle jackets, and the lipstick comeback.

i like this man a lot. i am even in full support of the "wade" bandaid he was sporting on all star weekend. anyway, after wade contributed 41 points last night, miami and atlanta are going to game 7 too. i would love for the heat to take this series. what a lovely weekend this will be. do not disturb me from 8pm this evening, date with boston. happy playoff weekend!
